UAE Sports Hub (“we”, “us”) helps people find sports events in the United Arab Emirates and follow the ones they care about. This page explains what information we hold about you, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version: we collect what is needed to run your account and the features you use, we do not show advertising, we do not use tracking or analytics cookies, and we do not sell personal information.

1. Who we are

UAE Sports Hub is operated from the United Arab Emirates and runs the website uaesportshub.ae. For anything about your information, write to info@uaesportshub.ae.

2. What we collect

You can browse events without an account. If you create one or use certain features, we hold:

  • Account details: your email address, your name, and your password. The password is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that we cannot read. If sign-in with Google is offered and you use it, we also receive your Google account identifier and email address.
  • Profile and preferences: your name and a profile picture if you upload one, and what you choose to add to your athlete profile (display name, a link to a photo, nationality, gender, year of birth, club, a short bio), your favourite sports, emirates and distances, your language, your choice of light or dark appearance, and your notification settings.
  • What you do with events: events you save, follow or mark as taking part in, athletes you follow, results you claim as yours, event links you send us, and requests to manage an organiser's events. Suggestions you send us through the chat: what you wrote and your name and email (from your account if you are signed in, otherwise as you type them), so we know who it is from and can answer. Problems you report on an event page: what you wrote, your name and email, and whether you asked to be answered by email or by a notification on the site.
  • Searches and clicks: the text of searches you make and of questions you ask the event finder, and when you press “Register now” on an event. If you are signed in these are linked to your account; otherwise they are not linked to a person. We also keep daily totals of views, saves and register clicks per event, which are not linked to anyone.
  • Technical details: your IP address and browser type when you sign in (kept with that sign-in session), and your IP address for a short time to limit abuse such as repeated password attempts.
  • Location: only if you press “Near you”. Your device then sends its position to us once so we can list nearby events. We do not save it.
  • Notifications: if you switch on push notifications, the address your browser gives us so that messages can reach that device.

3. Event and race-result information from public sources

We gather event details from pages that organisers, federations and registration websites publish, and we link back to them. Our collector identifies itself, follows each site's rules for automated visitors, and reads public pages only.

Results that organisers or timing companies publish may include a participant's name, nationality, gender, age group, race number and times. We show them as published. If a result about you is wrong, or you would like it removed from our site, write to us and we will deal with it.

4. How we use information

  • To run your account and keep it secure, including password resets.
  • To show you events that match your sports, places and distances, and your own calendar.
  • To send the notifications you have chosen: reminders, registration deadlines, and changes or cancellations of events you follow.
  • To understand which events and searches are popular so we can improve coverage, using totals rather than individual profiles.
  • To prevent misuse of the site and to meet legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles.

5. Your public athlete profile

If you create an athlete profile, it is public by default: other people can see your display name, club, sports and bio at its address. In your profile settings you can make the whole profile private, or separately hide your results, your upcoming events and your nationality. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Every account has a profile with your name and, if you add one, your picture, and anyone can find it by searching for your name. Your account is either public or private, and you choose which in your profile. Anyone signed in can follow a public account straight away, and its profile page is open to everyone. To follow a private account a person has to ask, and you allow or decline each request; until you allow it they see only your name and picture. Who follows whom is shown only as numbers on a profile; your lists of followers and people you follow are visible to you alone. The events you have marked as taking part in are shown to your followers, and to everyone if you have chosen that in your profile. You can mark any event as private when you say you are going, and then nobody else is shown it. You can remove a follower at any time. People who follow each other can send one another private messages and events; a message is seen only by the two of you, you can delete a message you sent, and unfollowing or removing a follower stops new messages. We do not read messages except where needed to deal with a report of abuse or a legal requirement. The people who can see that you are going to an event can also like it and leave a short comment, which they and you can remove; comments are shown with the name and picture of whoever wrote them.

6. Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work:

  • uaes_session — keeps you signed in. It lasts up to 30 days and is removed when you sign out.
  • uaes_locale — remembers whether you chose English or Arabic. It lasts up to one year.
  • g_state — set for a few minutes only while signing in with Google, where that option is offered.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party trackers, which is why you are not asked to accept cookies.

7. Who else handles information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We use a small number of companies to run the service; they handle information only to provide that service to us:

  • Vercel — hosts the website.
  • Supabase — hosts our database and uploaded files (in India).
  • Railway — runs the background work that collects events and sends notifications (in Singapore).
  • Resend — delivers the emails the site sends.
  • Anthropic — its AI model reads public event pages for us, answers event-finder questions, and gives the coaching app's AI coach its answers. For the AI coach it receives your message and the training data the answer needs; Anthropic does not use it to train its models.
  • Google Workspace — provides our own mailboxes, so emails you send us are held there.
  • OpenStreetMap — when you open a map, your browser loads map images directly from OpenStreetMap's servers, which see your IP address.
  • Apple, Google or Mozilla — if you switch on push notifications, your browser's maker carries them to your device.

Event pages link to organisers' own registration websites. When you go there, the organiser's privacy policy applies, not ours.

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

8. Where information is kept

Our database is hosted outside the United Arab Emirates (in India), and the companies listed above may process information in other countries, including Singapore and the United States. By using the site you understand that your information is processed in those places.

9. How long we keep it

  • Account, profile and activity information: for as long as you have an account.
  • Sign-in sessions: up to 30 days, or until you sign out or change your password.
  • Password-reset links: 60 minutes.
  • Totals that are not linked to a person (such as how often an event was viewed): indefinitely.

You can delete your account yourself at the bottom of your profile. That removes your account, athlete profile, saved and followed events, result claims, notifications and search history. A record that you pressed “Register now” on an event, or an event link you sent us, is kept without being linked to you. We may keep what the law requires us to keep.

10. Your choices and rights

You can change your profile, preferences, notification settings and password in your profile at any time, and you can switch off push notifications in your browser.

You can delete your account yourself at the bottom of your profile. You can also ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete your account for you, or to stop a particular use of your information — including the rights you may have under the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. Write to info@uaesportshub.ae from the email address on your account so we can confirm it is you.

11. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to the administration area is restricted. No online service can promise perfect security; if we learn of a problem that affects your information we will tell you.

12. Children

Many events welcome young athletes, but accounts are intended for adults. If you are under 18, please use the site with a parent's or guardian's permission. A parent or guardian can ask us to remove a child's account.

13. The event finder on other websites

Some clubs and partners place our event-finder chat on their own websites. It runs in a separate frame served by us: it does not read or change the page it sits on and sets no cookies on that website. Questions typed into it are handled as described in section 2.

14. The coaching app and connected devices

If you use our coaching app (USH Coaching), we keep what you add to it with your account: your training profile (such as your sport, goal and event date, the hours you can train and, if you add them, your weight and training zones such as threshold power, heart rate and paces), your plan and the changes you make to it, the workouts you log, your daily check-ins (sleep, legs, energy and how you feel), and the workout files you upload with what they contain: time, distance, heart rate, power and the GPS route. We use this only to build and adjust your plan and to show your progress.

Club feed: your activities are private unless you turn on club sharing in the app's settings. When it is on, other signed-in members see your activities in the club feed under your UAE Sports Hub account name, with kudos and comments; the start and finish points of routes are hidden. You can turn it off at any time and mark a single activity as private.

Sharing an activity on UAE Sports Hub: only when you choose to share one activity, after a preview. The post shows the sport and the day, and only the details you tick (title, distance, time, pace or speed) and your caption — never heart rate, power, the route or map, your notes, readiness or coach feedback. You choose who sees it: everyone (only your followers if your account is private), your followers, or your team. We keep a copy of just those details on UAE Sports Hub. Stopping sharing, making the activity private or deleting it removes the post; deleting your account removes them all. Members can report a post; our team may take it down. You can block a member: neither of you then sees the other's posts, and follows between you end.

Coaches: you can choose to be coached by a coach approved by UAE Sports Hub. Coaches are independent: they are not UAE Sports Hub staff, and the coaching advice they give is their own. A coach can only reach you through a private invitation that you accept. When you accept, you choose what the coach may see, and nothing is shared until you choose it: your training (your plan, sessions, how they went, training load and fitness trends, and recent activities), your readiness (your daily check-ins, resting heart rate and readiness score), and your notes on your own plan sessions. Your coach always sees the workouts they give you and how you did them, including what you write about them, and the feedback you exchange. You can change these choices or end coaching at any time in the app; your coach's access stops at once. Your plan, logs and activities stay yours. You have one main coach at a time. Messages between you and your coach can be read only by the two of you; if coaching ends, you keep them and your former coach can no longer see them.

Workouts and feedback: workouts a coach gives you, workouts you add yourself, how you did them and the feedback on them are kept with your account. Each workout keeps a history of its changes (such as when it was moved or completed). If coaching ends, workouts already in your calendar stay there; you can remove ones still to come.

Coaching notifications: we tell you in the coaching app's own notifications (separate from UAE Sports Hub's) and, if you turn them on, in its phone alerts when a coach adds, moves or removes a workout, leaves feedback or sends a message, the evening before a scheduled workout, and when an activity from Garmin couldn't be brought in (and tell coaches when an athlete completes their workout, replies or writes). These alerts say what happened and the day, never what the workout or message says. You can switch each kind off in the coaching app.

AI coach: when you ask the coaching app's AI coach a question, your message and the training data it needs to answer (your plan, load, readiness check-ins, recent activities, races and team sessions) are sent to Anthropic to produce the answer. We don't keep the conversation; it stays in the app until you start a new one. We record only that an answer was given and what it cost. The AI coach gives general training guidance, not medical advice, and if you have a human coach it doesn't change their plan.

If you apply to coach, we keep what you write in your application (your headline, sports, qualifications and description) so our team can review it. Athletes you invite see your name, headline and sports. Site administrators can see applications; only the site owner approves or pauses coaches. Neither sees athletes' training or health data; for security, we keep a record of who coaches whom and of changes to coaching relationships and sharing choices, without training details.

If you connect a Garmin account, you allow Garmin to send us your completed activities (with the details above), and we send the workouts from your plan, and those from your coach, to your Garmin device. We receive only what you allow when you connect, we use it only for the coaching app, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone else. You can disconnect at any time in the app or in your Garmin Connect settings. Your Garmin data is then no longer received, and you can delete what we already hold.

If you also allow health data on Garmin's page, Garmin sends us your daily health numbers: your sleep (how long, Garmin's sleep score and its stages), resting heart rate, overnight HRV, Body Battery, steps, stress, breathing rate, blood oxygen and skin temperature, Garmin's VO2 max and fitness age, and your weight and body composition if you weigh yourself with Garmin. When you first connect, we ask Garmin for the past 7 days of these. We use them only in the coaching app: to work out your daily readiness instead of asking you to fill in a check-in, and to show them in your recovery, fitness and weight charts. Your coach or nutritionist sees them only as you share: sleep, heart, stress and the other recovery figures with readiness, VO2 max and fitness age with training, and weight and body composition with weight. They are never sent to the AI coach. We keep them for up to 400 days. If you withdraw health data in Garmin Connect, or disconnect Garmin, we stop receiving them and delete what we hold.

Garmin data is stored in our database at Supabase and handled by our website host, Vercel, only to run the coaching app. It is not sold, not shared with any other third party, not processed by AI systems, and not used to train or improve AI models.

You can see your coaching data in the app, correct or delete any logged workout or activity, and download all of it (activities, log, check-ins, workouts from your coach and your own, feedback, messages with your coach, and your coaching relationships) with Export in the app's settings. To withdraw consent, change your sharing choices, end coaching, disconnect Garmin or delete your account.

To recognise an activity that Garmin sends twice, we keep a short record that it arrived (not the activity file) for up to a year.

Deleting your account deletes everything you saved in the coaching app, including your workouts, the feedback you wrote and your coaching relationships. If a coach deletes their account, workouts they gave you stay in your calendar.

15. Changes and contact

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and its date, and tell account holders about important changes. Questions and requests: info@uaesportshub.ae.
