This Grindstone Lake 1.2-mile swim takes athletes on a scenic journey through one of Ruidoso’s most beautiful natural settings. This 2-lap swim course, set in the clear, cool waters of Grindstone Lake, offers an opportunity for athletes to experience the beauty of New Mexico’s mountainous terrain while pushing their endurance to the limit.Bike course
The 56-mile bike course gives athletes an opportunity to challenge themselves as they Race the Peaks. The bike route starts at Grindstone Lake, makes its way through town, and heads out to the highway. Athletes will traverse on pristine pavement out to Hondo, experiencing epic views and epic climbs, before heading back into town.Run course
The 13.1-mile run course winds through charming mountain villages and scenic neighborhoods, offering athletes a refreshing and inspiring experience. Keep a lookout for the locals (horses, deer, and elk), as you finish your race strong in the heart of Midtown!
