The swimming segment is a one-way route, entering the water on the waterfront of the Calle[1]Calle River, in front of the Nautic training station (CAR Nautico), to head along the initial arm of the CauCau River, keeping in front of different important reference points, so it should not be a problem to maintain the direction as the flow won’t be a problem as the starting time will be with no or barely river current: Simply follow the line of buoys and you'll barely have to look up! The IRONMAN 140.6 Valdivia features a 2 loop course. In total, 180 km (112-mile) bike course renowned for its scenic beauty and fast, flat terrain. Starting near the Tres Marías airfield, the route winds through lush landscapes characterized by expansive meadows and dense forests. Riders pass through the quaint town of Cabo Blanco and alongside the tranquil Cruces River, often spotting black-necked swans. The course continues along the Cayumapu River toward Máfil, reaching the 37 km mark, before heading toward the Pichoy Memorial Bridge at approximately 61 km. The well-maintained asphalt ensures a smooth ride, with some wind adding a slight challenge, favoring aerodynamic positions. Athletes can expect average speeds around 37.5 km/h on this fast and predominantly flat circuit. The IRONMAN 140.6 Valdivia's run course is a flat and scenic 42 km (23.2-mile) route that showcases the city's picturesque urban landscapes. Starting at Saval Park on Isla Teja, runners traverse iconic bridges such as the Cau-Cau, Calle-Calle, and Pedro de Valdivia, connecting various parts of the city. You will go out of Saval Park, running until the separationnbetween the bike and run, and continue through Av España, until you arrive to Valdivia´s Costanera. Then you will need to complete 3 loops between Costanera and Avenida España (where you separate from the cycling course) surrounded by people.
