The IRONMAN 70.3 Mossel Bay swim course is a 1.9km sea swim starting on the historic Santos Beach and finishing at De Bakke Beach. The swim features a rolling start for Age Group athletes. Wetsuits are optional, based on water temperatures typically averaging 19.1˚ Celsius / 66.4˚ Fahrenheit during the month of November. The swim course is in a beautiful setting with vistas across the bay onto the Outeniqua mountains.Bike course
The bike course covers 90km in a single out-and-back loop from the transition at De Bakke Santos beach to Uitkyk on the Herbertsdale road and back. The course is hilly with a total elevation gain of 1020m/3346ft. There are three aid station on this scenic and challenging bike course.Run course
The undulating run course takes athletes through the harbour, the scenic old town of Mossel Bay and along the Point coastal walkway. Vistas of the bay dominated this course’s scenic run. The 21.1km run course is made up of three laps, with three aid stations per lap. The run surface is a mix of road and pedestrian pathways surfaces. There is a total elevation gain of 365m/1197ft over the 21.1km course.
