Athletes will swim 1.2 miles (1.9 km), getting a taste of the Caribbean sea in the protected waters of the Bahía de las Ánimas. Spectators will have a great view of the entireBike course
Athletes will pedal along the 56-mile (90 km) course. The bike course will start from the Convention Center and the Clock Tower towards the 'Vía al Mar,' the road that connects Cartagena to the city of Barranquilla. Along the way, athletes will enjoy beautiful landscapes, beaches, and mangroves. High speeds are expected due to the mostly flat course.Run course
The 2 loop run course will take athletes on a 13.1 mile (21km) journey through the Old City of Cartagena. Participants will make their way through the west part of the city with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea which borders the historic walled city. Upon entering the walled city athletes will step back in time to the colonial years and pass through the colorful and historical architecture that make Cartagena a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Athletes will finish their IRONMAN 70.3 journey in front of the Cartagena landmark El Torre de Reloj.
